Bedford South School

Update on School Reopening

As a cautionary measure, Bedford South School will remain closed until Monday, December 7.

This will allow Public Health to complete contact tracing for the school community.

We will continue to support all students with at-home learning tomorrow (Wednesday) and on Friday.

A reminder that Thursday is a professional development day in the morning and parent-teacher interviews are taking place in the afternoon.

Students who have been identified as a close contact with the confirmed case are required to stay home from school and self-isolate for 14 days as directed by Public Health. Support for these students with at-home learning will continue.

I want to thank everyone for stepping up in these challenging times. I am deeply impressed with how quickly our students and staff have pivoted to learning and teaching at-home.

Please continue to monitor your child(ren) daily for signs or symptoms of COVID-19 using Nova Scotia’s daily checklist at: https://novascotia.ca/coronavirus/docs/Daily-COVID-checklist-en.pdf .

If your child(ren) has or develops signs or symptoms as described on the checklist, complete the COVID-19 self-assessment online at https://covid-self-assessment.novascotia.ca or call 811 if you are unable to access the online tool.

We can’t wait to welcome students and staff back into the building on Monday.

Helen Healy,
Principal
